| The Inlaid Drawing Room at Mawley is
more reminiscent of the most ornately decorated rococo rooms of
Bavaria than any contemporary rooms in English Country Houses.
The inlaid work consists of over a dozen
different materials, brass, ebony, ivory, magnolia, maple,
sycamore, teak, tulip
wood and walnut among others. While subject matter varies from
exotic animals, such as cheetahs and peacocks, to the patron’s
coat of arms
The floor of The Inlaid Drawing Room is equally
remarkable with its interlocking isometric shapes, predominantly
made
out of mahogany.
